Tipping Movers

Submitted by admin on Tuesday, 14 June 2016 - 14:27 Posted in Our Blog

Tipping workers for particular services can often be a difficult task. Sometimes you don’t know if the total pay includes a tip that will eventually be distributed to the workers, or if they’re even allowed to accept gratuities from customers. Often, the amount in which you should tip is the biggest question. In regards to compensating workers from a well-known company such as AAA Moving & Storage Co., there’s valuable information below relating to how you should go about the tipping process:

Who?
When you tip your movers, make sure that you hand over the cash to the foreman or forewoman who has been running the show. Don’t take the initiative and tip each worker individually but, rather, leave it to the head honcho to most appropriately distribute the reward among the crew. Maybe there’s a worker or two that started later than the others, which would make an even distribution of the tip unfair. Hand it over to the boss-man and let him decide who deserves what.

What?
Avoid tipping your moving crew with anything but cash. Although workers would most likely be satisfied with food and beverages after transporting all of your possessions, there’s no doubt that most workers would prefer to go home with extra cash in their pockets. Cash is the best currency when helping out your movers with a suitable tip.

When?
Similar to most other services, it’s ideal to tip workers once the requested moving support has been completed.  Tipping your team of movers before the project has come to an end eliminates the incentive that most workers strive towards: a hefty tip. Provide an accommodating compensation at the conclusion of their services so that you can more effectively determine their deserved reward. Make sure your workers are aware of your approval at the end of the day.

How?
The standard tip in the moving industry is about 15-20% of the total cost to transport your belongings, which will be divided among the company’s crew by the foreman or forewoman in charge. The percentage can certainly fluctuate depending on the promptness of the service, demonstrated respect and generosity, and overall accommodational support provided throughout the transition. Consider the particular assistance that you requested of them, including lifting incredibly heavy objects, disassembling and assembling items, the distance of the move, and much more. If you’re in a jam and can’t determine an accommodating tip, divide the total bill by 5 which will determine the 20% figure.

Why?
Although moving companies don’t require that you tip their workers once they completed the transportation process, tipping is a generous way to reflect your satisfaction and gratitude for the workers’ diligent services. Moving is a physically demanding profession that requires strenuous labor to complete. By providing workers from a respectable company such as AAA Moving & Storage Co. with a suitable tip, you’ll be able to express your appreciation for their hard work and commitment to your satisfaction.

Always tip your workers in the moving industry, since a large portion of their overall compensation is generated from the tips that they receive from clients. Once your moving services have been performed promptly and effectively, toss a generous tip to your workers to relate your satisfaction and approval of their hard work. Make sure your workers go home after a long day’s work with the same relieved feeling that you have when settling into your new place.
